Old Home Day is a traditional community celebration that dates back to the late 1800s. Originally started by Governor Frank W. Rollins in 1899, it was intended to encourage people who had moved away to return to their hometowns and reconnect with their roots. It’s a time for neighbors to gather, honor local history, and celebrate small-town life in New Hampshire. New Hampton celebrates our Old Home Day at the historic Town House located at 86 Town House Rd in August. The Old Home Day Committee plans and oversees the various activities, food, & music that occur during our Old Home Day festivities.
